It was recently revealed by the Siya crew that the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper has been hoping for a chance to play football at professional level again.
However, with the new developments involving Chansa and SAFA, it is unlikely that Chansa will continue playing in the future as he has taken up a role in coaching.
A source close to the South African Football Association (SAFA) confirmed to the Siya crew that Chansa was appointed Banyana's goalkeeper trainer on the weekend.
Chansa's appointment is following after the news that Vera Pauw had been handed a new contract by SAFA earlier this year, which will see her continuing coaching Banyana for a longer period.
Chansa recently acquired his coaching licence after completing a course with SAFA. Banyana are preparing for the Women's Cup in Cyprus next month.
