All Africa Games Qualifier

Result: Banyana Banyana 5-0 Botswana

Date: 11 April 2015

Venue: Dobsonville Stadium

Banyana Banyana were in a rampant mood as they thrashed Botswana 5-0 in their All Africa Games second leg qualifier on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts went ahead in the eighth minute courtesy of a well-taken penalty from Mamello Makhabane, after Sanah Mollo had been brought down in the area.

Portia Modise should have doubled the lead minutes later but the country's top goal-scorer poked an effort wide of the mark from six-yards out.

However, Modise made up for the miss in the 14th minute, as she turned home Leandra Smeda's cross into an empty net.

Banyana goalkeeper, Roxanne Barker, came to her side's rescue midway through the first half with a fine save, before rushing off her line to deny the visitors a clear sight on goal.

Vera Pauw's side extended their lead in the 53rd minute, as Amanda Dlamini got on the end of Modise' knockdown and fired a low effort into the back of the net.

Banyana got their fourth in the 60th minute, as Noko Matlou rose highest and headed past a helpless  Botswana goalkeeper.

Banyana added a fifth in the 73rd minute thanks to a clinical finish from Silindile Ngubane from the edge of the area, after Botswana failed to deal with a cross from the right.

Pauw's side managed to see out the rest of the game with relative ease and claimed an emphatic 6-0 aggregate win over Botswana and qualify for the AAG Finals.
