Result: Banyana Banyana 5-0 Gabon
Date: 31 May 2015
Venue: Dobsonville Stadium
Banyana Banyana progressed to the next round of the 2016 Olympic Qualifiers after thrashing Gabon 5-0 in their second leg tie on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts went ahead in the ninth minute when Jermaine Seoposenwe broke free down the middle, before brilliantly finishing over the Gabonese goalkeeper.
The lead could have been doubled in the 13th minute but Seoposenwe managed to blast over from inside the area, after getting on the end of Janine Van Wyk's free-kick.
Vera Pauw's side managed to increase their lead in the 24th minute, as Amanda Dlamini collected a pass on the edge of the area, before curling a deflected effort into the far corner.
Refiloe Jane got Banyana's third in the 28th minute, as she cut inside from the left, before beating her marker to fire a low effort into the bottom corner.
Banyana should have added a fourth before the halftime break but Seoposenwe managed to place her effort wide of the mark, with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Seoposenswe made up for that shortly after the halftime break, when she slotted home from close range, after Sanah Mollo's shot had been saved.
Banyana added a fifth in the 77th minute, as Refiloe Jane picked out Mollo at the far post and the striker headed into the far corner.
Pauw's side will now move on to the next round of qualifying matches, as they continue to their push for showpiece in Brazil next year.
