The 27-year-old last featured for Bafana in a 1-1 draw against Mozambique, which was his only ever cap for South Africa.
After netting 17 goals in 29 appearances for Sparta Rotterdam this season, Veldwijk has earned a re-call for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Dutch-based forward is now hoping to use his physicality should he get the opportunity against the Libyans. "I'm a goalscorer. I'm a physical player and quite tall. I'm not the most technical player, but we have many technical players in the team. I'm a goalscorer and good in the 18-yard box," the striker said. "I'm already proud to be back in the team. If the coach says he wants to use me in the last 10 or 15 minutes, I would be really happy with that. "I want to help the team as best as possible and I know I'm a physical player. Most of the other South African players are not as big as me. So if we need to force something in the last minutes, you can put me in and I'll do everything to help the team."
