Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Peace Mabe says it is up to the court - and not the department - to decide whether or not South African Football Association (SAFA) President Dr. Danny Jordaan is found guilty of the charges mounted against him.
Last week, Jordaan, and his two co-accused, SAFA chief financial officer Gronie Hluyo and journalist-turned-businessman Trevor Neethling was arrested and charged with fraud after allegedly spending R1.3 million of the association's money for his personal benefit.
The trio appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge, where they were subsequently granted bail of R20 000.

While the developments have set tongues wagging amongst the local football fraternity, the Department of Sports have chosen to remain mum on the matter until after the law has ran its course.
"I honestly thought that question would never come up," Mabe said responding to journalists at the FOFA World Cup showcase hosted by VISA.
"Well I would request not to comment on that because there are courts involved. And if the courts are involved, it's for them to decide whether guilty or not. So, I would request that I don't comment on that," she said.
