Fagrie Lakay

Despite scoring more league goals than Bafana Bafana's leading player Percy Tau last season, Fagrie Lakay could be scratching his head at his constant omission from Hugo Broos' squads. He has scored three goals in 11 matches for Pyramids this season, yet the former Cape Town City forward could not crack the nod for Bafana's 50-man preliminary squad.

Tashreeq Matthews

Another player who can feel hard done by after being omitted from Broos' squad. Matthews, 23, had an impressive season in IK Sirius this year and contributed nine goals and 10 assists in 30 Allsvenskan games in the season gone by. With 19 goal contributions, one of Sweden's best players did not make the cut for the Belgian coach, who has cited his lack of physicality as a reason for his snub.

Gift Links

Links continues to hog the headlines in Denmark for his performances in an adjusted left-wingback role. That the 25-year-old, who has been a mainstay in the AGF Aarhus starting XI hasn't made the Bafana Bafana squad since 2019 remains a mystery.

Relebohile Mofokeng

Upon his appointment as Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos preached the importance of blooding young talent into the national team. He appears to have forgotten his own words as he seemingly overlooked one of the country's most promising talents in Mofokeng, who has been impressive for Orlando Pirates in his first full season.

Luke Le Roux

Having been sidelined by injury since his move to Dutch outfit Volendam, Le Roux recently made his debut for the Dutch club. The midfielder was named the Player of The Season at his club Varbergs BoIs in Sweden, having played 26 games from a possible 30 in the 2022/23 campaign.
