FIFA have released the latest world rankings

The South African men's national team have dropped one place in the latest rankings released by world football governing body FIFA.

Molefi Ntseki's men, who had disappointing results in the latest international friendlies against Zambia and Namibia respectively, dropped one place from position 71 to position 72, according to the latest FIFA rankings.

Bafana currently sit on 1332 world ranking points, two less than their previous total of 1334.

The highest ranked African team is Senegal, who occupy position 21, followed by Algeria and Tunisia in positions 26 and 30 respectively.

Meanwhile, Bafana have also struggled to get into the top 10 on the African continent and currently sit in 13th place.

The next challenge for Ntseki and his team comes in the form of Sao Tome and Pricipe, who are ranked 181st in the world rankings and 50th in Africa.

The two nations will clash in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on November 13, with the second match coming three days later on November 16.
