South Africa and Nigeria have experienced two contrasting 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns as Bafana sit top of the Group C with 13 points from six games, while the Super Eagles languish in fourth place on seven points from four games, six points behind the leaders.

The next four games are make-or-break for head coach Eric Chelle, as anything less than four wins from their remaining four games would put Nigeria at serious risk of missing out on a consecutive World Cup.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions face Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on 5 September before facing Bafana in Bloemfontein four days later.

According to a Nigerian publication, The Niche, Ikpeba has revealed that Chelle's players are determined to take six points from their next two games.

"There’s pride, determination and honour to play for your country, I believe the boys are now ready and determined to do the job against Rwanda and South Africa," Ikpeba said.
