South Africa had one of their most successful AFCONs in recent history after reaching the quarter-finals and winning a knockout game at the tournament for the first time since 2000 - doing so against favourites and hosts, Egypt.
Now, with their tournament over after being knocked out by Nigeria, Bafana are awaiting tomorrow's AFCON 2021 qualification draw to see which teams they will need to see off in order to reach the finals in Cameroon in two years' time.
Bafana will avoid Guinea, Cape Verde, Uganda, Zambia, Benin, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Mauritania, Niger, Kenya and Libya as they were all named in Pot 2, but there are still plenty of banana skins out there for Stuart Baxter's side as they vye for a spot on Africa's grandest stage.

One of the continent's biggest nations will be in their group, with current finalists, Senegal and Algeria, as well as Tunisia, Nigeria, Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Cameroon (hosts), Egypt, Burkina Faso, Mali and Ivory Coast all in Pot 1.
