Coming through the ranks at Pirates, Foster worked with Palacios at some point and the renowned youth coach is proud of the progress made by the 23-year-old in the South African senior national team.
"When an international coach can go and watch a player and then sign him then it means there is something special about that player. Vincent Kompany (Burnely coach) went to Belgium to watch Lyle Foster and he was impressed. There had been a lot of other scouts that had been following Lyle and Vincent was made aware of him and told to go and have a look at him and he liked what he saw and signed him," said Palacios to the Siya crew.

"When Kompany went to watch Lyle Foster, he was sitting next to the player's parents and the father didn't know that Vincent was there to watch his son. After the game, somebody introduced Kompany to Lyle's parents and as they say the rest is history. Look at the boy now, he has scored two goals in three games in the Premier League and I am proud of him. As you might know by now, I am very passionate about young players and I am very proud of all my boys that have gone on to represent the country," he said.
