Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has expressed his delight for a young Los Blancos starlet, who scored a long-range screamer against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday night.
Did Ronaldo Respond To Mourinho's Recent Criticism?
The Frenchman insisted, a couple of weeks ago, that Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio, who spent the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Espanyol, would be staying at Real this season, and the boss was not let down against Sevilla on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old struck a magnificent shot into the top left corner 21 minutes into the clash, and went on to play the full 120 minutes for Los Blancos.
"Asensio is here to stay and he had a very complete performance, not just because of the goal," Zidane said, according to Marca.
"My plan is for him to remain with the first team."
The player excelled in a creative role in Espanyol's midfield during his loan spell last season.
