If more coaches had the holistic vision for South African football that Tshwane University of Technology coach Bushy Moloi has, the game will be forever stronger in Mzansi.
Moloi's team are the current defending Varsity Football champions and placed in the first position on the 2017 log. He is currently preparing them for a top-of-table clash with the University of Western Cape this week.

But instead of focusing on the result, and the eventual outcome, Moloi believes the development of the footballer still remains the ultimate priority. It is with this mindset that the charismatic coach is planning to overhaul his starting line-up.
"We're working hard, very hard," Moloi said. "We're considering bringing in a new team. It's about developing players. We need to give back as coaches. South African soccer needs a new player. We've been handed this wonderful opportunity by Varsity Sports to showcase the young talent in our country and we have a responsibility to do just that."
But what about UWC? Surely, with just one point separating the teams after the first four rounds, will the boys from Cape Town not view this as the ideal opportunity to topple the pace-setters?

"We don't have anything to prove to them. We played without Temba Ndlovu against UJ and we scored two goals. Some people will say we might have scored four. But that's not the point. Not one player is important. It's about ensuring there are five or six players," said Moloi.
"Yes, UWC are a strong side. They put six past Wits, four past UFH, four past NWU, so there is definitely something special about them. But it's the first time they travelling to Pretoria since 2013. They are coming to our house. We'll be ready."
