With 50 days until the start of the World Cup in Brazil, Soccer Laduma takes a look back at our Top 50 World Cup moments.
Today we remember number 39 - Diego Maradona Testing Positive For Drugs
In the 1994 World Cup in America, Diego Maradona was all set to make a comeback after some time out of the game.
He didn't disappoint, scoring a wonder goal against Greece early in the tournament.
But, in just the next match, the star was put through a random drug test and tested positive for the use of a banned drug, ephedrine.
After his highly publicised battle with cocaine in previous years, his future with the national team was in doubt and he was eventually banned for the remainder of the tournament by FIFA and for 15 months thereafter.
He would never play for Argentina again.
