The South African midfielder was recently among five Rangers players who were caught partying late into last Sunday morning, actions Gerrard admitted to being heavily disappointed by.
Zungu, 28, joined the Scottish champions on loan from Amiens at the beginning of the season with the hope of securing a permanent move to the club.
However, when Gerrard was asked recently whether or not the midfielder had blown that chance, he responded by saying he will continue with players who have "remained professional".

"I think that would be fair to say, yes," he said, according to Glasgow Live.
"That will take care of itself and we'll move forward with the players who have remained professional and want to be part of a successful team.
"We spoke as a group and I explained the situation to them.
'I Would Be Surprised If Zungu Played For Rangers Again'
"We're at such an important time of the season with the fixtures coming up that we can't be worrying about it or letting our focus slide."
Zungu has played just 15 times for Rangers so far this season, and has failed to register a goal or assist for the club to date.
