Although it was a disappointing result for the Red Devils, there was one standout moment enjoyed by France international Pogba, who played a direct hand in United's only goal of the match.
After smart build-up play outside Southampton's box, Pogba made his way into the danger area before teeing up Mason Greenwood for their second-half equaliser after a Fred own goal had put the Saints ahead in the 30th minute.
With Greenwood converting the chance, United's French midfielder has now amassed five assists in his first two appearances of the season, having also set up four strikes in the Manchester club's 5-1 win over Leeds United on the opening weekend of the campaign.
According to the 20-time English champions' official website, no other player in Premier League history has ever achieved this special feat.

Will Pogba stay at United?
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the club in recent months, with the player having only a year remaining on his contract in England.
It now appears Pogba will stay at United until the end of this season, although it seems to be a possibility that he could sign a new long-term deal with the Old Trafford-based side amid speculation he is wanted by both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
