Big Trouble In French Camp After Shock Euro Exit

It had been a brilliant tournament for the 28-year-old, who was hailed throughout for his excellent passing from deep in midfield, from where he set up many chances for his French colleagues.

Pogba got on the scoresheet himself with an incredible effort from range in their round of 16 clash with Switzerland this week, which went to extra-time after ending 3-3 in the regulation 90 minutes.

Les Bleus were eventually knocked out after Kylian Mbappe missed his penalty kick in the shootout, and Pogba took to social media in the wake of their bitter disappointment to pen his thoughts.

"Sometimes football can be cruel… cruel and also beautiful," he wrote on Instagram, according to Manchester Evening News.

"(Monday), the game brought us sadness but happiness to our opponents. That's the beauty of football. Of course, we all wished that we could have had a positive result. Thank you so much to all of our fans across the globe.

"It was beautiful to see you, to hear you, and to celebrate with you. You gave us hope and joy throughout all of our games. We will keep our heads up and we will come back stronger.

"Finally, I want to wish congratulations to Switzerland."
