With Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo seen embracing one another during and after France and Portugal's 2020 UEFA European Championship clash this week, the Real Madrid striker has since revealed what they spoke about.
France and Portugal both advanced from Group F, along with Germany, earlier this week after a 2-2 draw in a drama-filled game in which both Benzema and Ronaldo scored braces.
The two veteran forwards had met for the first time that night since Ronaldo left Los Blancos for Juventus in 2018, nine years after the Spanish giants signed both of them in the same transfer window.
Benzema has since stated it was good to reunite with his ex-colleague, revealing they had only kind messages to share with one another.
"It's nice to see him again, we have come a long way together," he said, according to the Metro.
"We both played eight or nine years at Real Madrid, we scored goals, won trophies.
"We spoke, we wished each other good luck for the future with our clubs and in the tournament, and especially to continue to have fun on the field and continue to make the difference."
Benzema and Ronaldo won 15 pieces of silverware together between 2009 and 2018, including two LaLiga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies.
