Amakhosi recorded a 1-0 win over Chippa United to advance to the semi-finals of the competition and today the Soweto giants will lock horns with a Wits side who are eager to turn the corner on their form by booking their spot in the final f the Telkom Knockout competition.
However, who will Amakhosi look to in order to cause a threat to the Wits side? The Siya crew takes a look at four Chiefs players who have been showing impressive statistics so far in the 2017/18 campaign.
Gustavo Paez:
Paez has scored three goals so far this season and after recovering quickly from his injury, the striker will be eager to regain his goal-scoring form for the Soweto giants.
Siphiwe Tshabalala:
Tshabalala has been in impressive form for Amakhosi and has proven to be a real threat when given the space and freedom. The 33-year-old has scored three goals so far this season and according to the statistics is one of Chiefs most threatening players in front of goal, taking the most shots (26) with seven of them being on target so far this season.
Daniel Cardoso:
The Students will be on the lookout for Cardoso whenever he has the ball, with the player having the highest passing accuracy in the team, on 87.2 % and with a 50% accuracy rate when passing the ball in the final third.
George Maluleka:
Maluleka has been clinical for Chiefs when on form, scoring two goals so far in the 2017/18 campaign. According to the statistics, Maluleka has made at least 45 successful passes in every game he has played in and the Wits defense will be weary to not give the 28-year-old space and time to find the likes of Paez and Tshabalala upfront.
