The second trophy of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League season is up for grabs next weekend, and there's some good news for one of the camps…
Maritzburg United are sure to be up for the game on Saturday as Eric Tinkler prepares his side to play in a Telkom Knockout final for the first time in their history, and he'll be able to do so without any suspension concerns.
Captain and number one goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, had to sit out the win over Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon after he picked up his fourth yellow of the season in their draw at AmaZulu, but it did mean that he was safe to make his return in the showpiece against Mamelodi Sundowns in a few days' time.
Tinkler also appeared to make a tactical decision not to play centre back, Kwanda Mngonyama, for the 1-0 win over Polokwane due to the fact that he is one yellow card away from suspension, meaning that he will also be available to line-up at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Now, aside from Siyanda Xulu and Phumlani Ntshangase – who are still recovering from injury and aren't expected to make it in time – Tinkler has practically a full squad to choose from over the course of this week as he plots the downfall of Masandawana at the weekend.
Do you think Maritzburg can beat Sundowns on Saturday evening?
