The Red Devils officially confirmed the Portugal captain's return on deadline day in a deal worth €23 million, which is payable over five years.
There has been a lot of excitement from the supporters and former players in the past few days as a result, and goalkeeper Lee Grant has revealed the senior players are excited about the move too.
"The excitement is palpable and I'll be honest with you, it's not just with the younger players," he told talkSPORT.
"The thing that struck me and made me realise this is huge, is the reaction of our more senior players.
"If our back-up goalkeeper is thinking about the impact this transfer is going to have on me and my training, and the level I have to bring, imagine what it will do to the others.
"I was at the nursery picking up my children, and one of our more senior players, you could call him one of our 'bigger' players, and you could see the look on his face and the excitement.
"It is bordering on giddiness for us that we were able to bring Cristiano in, it is a bit of an eye-opener for me. The excitement is really palpable."
