Bundesliga debutants, RB Leipzig moved six points clear of Bayern Munich at the top, after they defeated Freiburg 4-1 on Friday evening.
Leipzig opened the scoring after just two minutes courtesy of a stunning strike from Naby Keita. It was also the club's fastest goal in Bundesliga history.
The home side hit back in the 15 minute, as Florian Niederlechner slotted home from close range.
However, the Bundesliga leaders restored their lead after 21 minutes thanks to Timo Werner's sixth league goal of the season.
Liepzig then grabbed their third goal in the 35th minute when Werner latched onto a pass from Emil Forsberg, before firing into the bottom corner from close range.
The score remained 3-1 to Leipzig at the halftime break.
The visitors had the ball in the back of the net once again in the 68th minute, but Werner was flagged for offside.
Marcel Sabitzer almost registered his name on the score-sheet after 75 minutes, as he rounded Alexander Schwolow but saw his shot crashed against the upright.
However, Sabitzer was not to be denied three minutes later as Forsberg thread a fine pass to the Austrian midfielder, who made no mistake from close range, 4-1.
