Euro 2020
Teams: France vs Germany (Group F)
Time: 21:00
Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany
Although the competition has started off brilliantly with several big hitters having already played, this is the fixture many see as the first major clash of Euro 2020.
Heading into the match, France have not lost a game against Die Mannschaft in their past five meetings, although that does not paint a full and fair picture, especially when it comes to Euro tournament form.
Germany have won seven of their past eight Euro matches, while France also go into the game in decent form, as they are unbeaten in six of their past seven European Championship games.
Much has been said of Kylian Mbappe's off-field spat with Les Bleus teammate Olivier Giroud ahead of their first match at this year's showpiece, with the 22-year-old starting up front alongside the returning Karim Benzema as expected.
The Real Madrid man will feature in his first major tournament for his country since the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, after being exiled from the national team set-up in 2015 following a blackmail scandal involving one of his former international teammates.
For Germany, Thomas Muller's experience will be key for Joachim Low, who has already announced that he will be stepping down as Germany boss after the Euros.
Here are the starting XIs:
France: Lloris, Pavard, Varane, Kimpembe, Hernandez, Kante, Rabiot, Pogba, Griezmann, Benzema, Mbappe.
Germany: Neuer, Rudiger, Hummels, Ginter, Gosens, Kroos, Gundogan, Kimmich, Muller, Havertz, Gnabry.
