Euro 2020: Jack Grealish Reacts To Being Benched For England

England fan favourite Jack Grealish has reacted to being placed on the bench by Gareth Southgate at the 2020 UEFA European Championship, amid rumours Manchester City could pay £100 million (R1.9 billion) for his signature.

The Aston Villa captain, 25, is yet to play a full match for his country at the tournament, starting only against the Czech Republic in the Three Lions' third and final Group D game.

Still, however, Grealish has managed to contribute to England's progress at Euro 2020, having picked up two assists in three appearances, including one in the team's 2-0 round of 16 win over Germany earlier this week.

With many wondering whether or not Southgate will start the attacker in their quarter-final against Ukraine on Saturday, Grealish has admitted he needs to be "realistic" about where he ranks in the team's pecking order.

"It's difficult. I'm always playing every minute at Villa," he said, according yahoo!sport.

"I have to be realistic about myself and the talent that we have, especially in my position.

"You've got six players that play either side of Harry (Kane) that, in reality, could play for most clubs in the world – myself, Jadon (Sancho), Marcus (Rashford), Raheem (Sterling), Phil (Foden) and Bukayo (Saka).

"That's scary how good us six are. That's not being big-headed. That's just the truth."

Having made his England debut in September last year, Grealish has picked up four assists in the 594 minutes he has played so far for the Three Lions.
