Borussia Dortmund advanced to the DFB Pokal final, after recording a thrilling 3-2 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening.
BVB were the first to get a clear cut chance in the fifth minute as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit a first time shot that was well saved by Sven Ulreich.
Thomas Tuchel's charges eventually took the lead in the 19th minute. Raphael Guerreiro did well to snatch a poor back pass from Javi Martinez and hit a right footed shot that hit the post but Reus was on hand to score from the rebound, 0-1.
In the 28th minute Martinez atoned for his error as he scored with a bullet header to bring Bayern back into the match.
Guerreiro had a great opportunity to put the black and yellows into the lead after 35 minutes but his shot went narrowly wide after being put on through by Reus.
Mats Hummels made it 2-1 for Bayern just before the break, as he turned home a cross from Franck Ribery.
The match went into the break with Bayern having come from behind twice to be on the driving seat at 2-1.
Arjen Robben came close to making it 3-1 for the home side after 58 minutes but his left-footed curler hit the far right post.
However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leveled matters for Dortmund after 70 minutes after finishing off a well-worked move.
The visitors then went ahead five minutes later thanks to a strike from French starlet, Ousmane Dembele.
Ancelotti's charges pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages of the second half, but Dortmund managed to hold on for the win.
