Kaizer Chiefs have always had dribbling wizards in the team since the formation of the club. It's within the club's DNA and it is why the club has such massive following, which is second to none within Southern Africa.
Chiefs have had ball geniuses such as Teenage Dladla, Computer Lamola, Ace Ntsoelengoe, Doctor Khumalo, Scara Ngobese and Jabu Pule to name a few. Lately a player that has shown much potential is Hendrik Ekstein, but the young man he is not even close to the likes of "Shuffle" Pule or "Black Jesus" Ngobese, who could entertain or single handedly win matches.
Players such as George Lebese have shown much promise, but have not lived up to the bill. Perhaps Chiefs need to go all out to buy Phakamani Mahlambi, who looks to have Amakhosi DNA in his style of play, from Wits. He won't come cheap and it's the price Chiefs have to pay for failing to produce from their Academy.
Perhaps its great news that Kaizer Chiefs is looking at bringing back Farouk Khan into their youth set up. He has produced many players such as May Mahlangu at the Stars of Africa Academy.
Do Kaizer Chiefs need a superstar to bring back the glory days?
