Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his 23rd Bundesliga goal of the season, as Borussia Dortmund recorded a 1-0 win over Ingolstadt on Friday evening.
Gabon international Aubameyang returned to the line up for the home side, after missing the DFB Pokal clash through injury.
Dortmund broke the deadlock after 14 minutes, as Aubameyang collected a pass from Marcel Scmelzer before slotting into the bottom corner.
Ingolstadt, meanwhile, struggled to mount any serious attempts at Roman Burki's during the entire opening 45 minutes.
The home side nearly doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime through Raphael Guerreiro, who smashed the ball over the crossbar from close range.
Dortmund coach, Thomas Tuchel opted for a change 10 minutes into the second half, as Julian Weigl replaced Guerreiro.
After a quiet spell in the half, the hosts nearly doubled their lead in the 74th minute but Hansen produced a superb save to keep out Durm's volley.
Ingolstadt had the chance to level matters in the 88th minute when Marvin Matip was played in by Lezcano, however defender blazed over the crossbar from close range.
Nonetheless, the score remained 1-0 at the full-time whistle as Dortmund cement third spot for another week.
