The Confederation of African Football has reportedly called an urgent meeting of all the clubs competing in the quarter-finals of the CAF interclub competitions following the fan violence that occurred between supporters of Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance de Tunis.

The encounter between Masandawana and the Blood and Gold was marred by violent scenes after the full-time whistle had blown, as that match proved to be the first of a series of first-leg encounters in continental football where supporters' struggles would overshadow the football on the pitch.
In Egypt, many AS FAR Rabat supporters were prevented from entering the 30 June Stadium for their side's match against Pyramids, leaving them stranded outside, while in the CAF Confederation Cup, Zamalek fans were also captured fighting in the stands during their match against Stellenbosch FC at the DHL Stadium.
All these factors, according to WinWin, have prompted CAF to call a meeting with all the clubs in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Confederation Cup to discuss the implementation of strict security protocols.
The same report states that the football associations and federations of these clubs have also been invited to the meeting in order to discuss security coordination for the second legs.

Sundowns, Espérance, and AS FAR are all understood to have submitted reports to African football's governing body regarding their respective situations and what transpired in their matches earlier this week, but it remains to be seen what CAF will decide.
