France Finish Third, The Dutch Book Semis Spot

League A, Group1

Denmark 2-0 France

Reigning UEFA Nations League champions France finished third in Group one after a 2-0 defeat to Denmark on Sunday night.

Didier Deschamps made two changes at the back as Raphael Varane and Joule Kounde (injured) were replaced by William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano.

The hosts got off to a good start in the first half as Kasper Dolberg opened the scoring on 33 minutes before Andreas Skov Olsen doubled the lead three minutes later.

The win was not enough for the Danes to progress, as Croatia had secured the much-needed win in the other Group One fixture.

Austria 1-3 Croatia

Croatia advanced to the semi-finals of the Nations League with a 3-1 win away to Austria.

The visitors opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute, with veteran midfielder Luka Modric finding the back of the net.

The lead didn't last too long as the Austrians levelled matters three minutes late through Christoph Baumgartner.

Marko Livaja restored Croatia's lead in the 69th minute, before Dejan Lovren wrapped up the win with the third goal three minutes later.

The win sees Croatia secure top spot in the group, while Austria have been relegated to League B.

Group 4

Netherlands 1-0 Belgium

Netherlands secured progression to the final four after defeating Belgium in their final group clash on Sunday.

Steven Bergwijn came in for the injured Memphis Depay, while Frenkie de Jong also missed out after picking up an injury on Thursday night.

Louis van Gaal's men had to wait until the 73rd minute when defender Virgil van Dijk nodded home Cody Gakpo's cross.

Wales 0-1 Poland

Wales were relegated to League B after a 1-0 defeat to Poland at the Cardiff City Stadium.

After a scoreless opening half, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 57th minute thanks to Karol Swiderski's impressive finish.

The result sees Poland finish third in the group, while Wales will be competing in the second tier in the next Nations League campaign.
