The 33-year-old is not only in the final stages of his career but perhaps also in his final hunt for Champions League glory.
Despite winning the domestic league titles with six different European top clubs, namely Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan and PSG, Ibrahimovic has failed to win Europe's elite competition.
Funny enough, both Inter and Barcelona won their last Champions League titles in the season after Ibrahimovic had left the club.
Since 2012, he has been trying to lead the French champions to the top of Europe for the first time in their history.
However, the quest for his missing trophy has been unsuccessful so far, after PSG were knocked in the quarter-finals of competition by Barcelona in 2013, and at the same stage by Chelsea in 2014.
Both times, his side lost on away goals, and critics still question whether PSG are strong enough to go all the way this season.
The defending champions are sitting in third on the Ligue 1 table, and Ibrahimovic's goals have dried up when compared to previous campaigns – he has only netted 16 in all competitions this season.
