While Cristiano Ronaldo walked away with the fans' UEFA Champions League goal of the season, his impressive strike did not make the top UEFA's official top 10 list.

Ronaldo's impressive long-range effort against Olympique Lyon in the round of 16 was voted Goal of the Season by the fans this week.
Not only was he left out of the official top 10 by UEFA's Technical Observers, but the number one spot went to his long-standing rival Lionel Messi.
Messi and FC Barcelona endured a horrible ending to their Champions League campaign at the hands of Bayern Munich, but it was the Argentine's solo effort against Napoli in the previous that was named Goal of the Season.
Joshua Kimich's goal against Barcelona in that 8-2 win comes in at number two on the list, although the goal is more remembered for Alphonso Davies' solo run in the build-up.

Morocco international Hakim Ziyech, who joined Chelsea recently, also cracked the top 10 with a strike against Valencia but you can click through the gallery to see the full top 10.
