UEFA Champions League

Teams: Liverpool vs FC Barcelona

Venue: Anfield

Time: 21:00

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored the opener in the return fixture and will return to Anfield for the first time since joining Barcelona in 2014. Lionel Messi added a brace, taking his club tally to 600 strikes, to give the Blaugrana a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Tonight's clash will be the two side's tenth fixture, with each recording three wins, although the English club has won all two-legged ties on aggregate so far.

Liverpool will draw even more hope from the fact that they have never lost at Anfield at this stage in the competition, winning eight of their ten matches and conceding just four goals.

The Reds have also won their last ten two-legged European ties, with their lastest defeat coming in 2014/15 at the hands of Besiktas in the UEFA Europa League round of 32. However, Jurgen Klopp's men have won just one of their last nine contests with Spanish sides, while losing six.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have only managed two away wins at this stage in the competition. The Catalan giants have won 15 of their 25 two-legged ties with English clubs, including the last five. Their 3-0 defeat against AS Roma in last season's quarter-final is the Spanish side's only defeat in the Champions in their last 22 games.

The visitors will miss the injured Ousmane Dembele and long-term absentee Rafinha, while Naby Keita, Salah and Firmino are all sidelined for the hosts.

Here is how both teams line up:

Liverpool: Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, Fabinho, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mane, Divock Origi

Barcelona: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Piqué, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho.
