Cristiano Ronaldo

UEFA Champions League   Result: Real Madrid 3-0 (3-2 agg) Wolfsburg   Date: 12 April 2016   Venue: Santiago Bernabeu   A stunning hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo saw Real Madrid beat Wolfsburg 3-0 and 3-2 on aggregate in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.   After putting the visitors under early pressure, Real opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Cristiano Ronaldo made it 1-0. The former Manchester United winger was picked out at the near post and he did the rest with a composed finish.   Los Blancos were intent on finding a second quickly to level the aggregate at 2-2, and they found it two minutes after the opener. A corner kick was whipped in and Ronaldo was there again to flick home the header.   Zinedine Zidane's charges continued to push for a third, setting up Karim Benzema with a decent chance to shoot. However, the Frenchman's drilled shot was into Benaglio's arms.   Wolfsburg had an opportunity to find a vital away goal just before the break. Henrique had an opening to strike with Keilor Navas out of position but his attempt hit Marcelo's outstretched leg.   Sergio Ramos came close to producing the third just past the hour mark when a corner from Toni Kroos gave him a chance to send a header at goal, but his effort hit the post.   In the 77th minute Ronaldo was the hero once more for Real Madrid. The Portuguese sent a dipping free kick past Benaglio to complete his hat-trick and book the hosts' place in the semi-finals.
