Goals from Messi's teammates Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez are also among the top 10 strikes. As was Sadio Mane's strike against Bayern Munich in the round of 16. The Senegalese's goal, during which he calmly rounded goalkeeper Manuel Neuer before slotting home, ended up in third place.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo defended his title from last season, when his stunning bicycle kick against Juventus – when he was still in the colours of Real Madrid – was voted as 2017/18 UCL Goal of the Season.
This time around, the Portuguese striker won the accolade for his stunning volley against United in the group stage, while Messi's free-kick ended in second position.
The top 10 goals were selected by a UEFA panel consisting of former Manchester United boss David Moyes, England coach Gareth Southgate, Belgium's Roberto Martinez and former Los Blancos striker Raul Gonzalez.
While the above goals were selected by an UEFA panel, Lionel Messi's free-kick won the fan vote for the Goal of the Tournament, as confirmed on Tuesday.
