European football's governing body updates their rankings for European club competitions after every round of Champions League and Europa League football, and has now published the latest version, with the 2016/17 season officially over.

Los Blancos remained at the top with 176.999 points, over 20 more than second-placed Bayern Munich with 154.899 points.

The table is calculated based on each club's ranking points collected over the past five seasons. These are allocated based on how far a team has gone in European competitions, with points from the Champions League counting more than points from the Europa League.

For example, Real, who have won three out of the past four Champions League titles, received 29.542 points (2012/13), 39.600 points (2013/14), 33.042 points (2014/15), 37.785 points (2015/16) and 37.028 points for their last five campaigns.

The Spanish giants' bitter rivals FC Barcelona follow in third spot with 151.999 points overall, while Atletico Madrid are fourth with 142.999 points.

Champions League finalists Juventus complete the five highest ranked teams with 140.666 points, ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (126.333 points) and Borussia Dortmund (124.899 points).

Sevilla, who won the past three Europa League titles before being replaced by Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, appear in eighth position (112.999 points), followed by Benfica (111.866 points).

Chelsea (106.192 points) complete the 10 highest ranked clubs, and are the only Premier League side in the top 10. Arsenal sit in 11th, Manchester City in 12th and United in 15th spot.
