A former teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo's has equalled a record held by the Juventus superstar in becoming only the second player to win 100 games in the UEFA Champions League, but where does Lionel Messi sit in the ranking?

Ronaldo became the first player in Champions League history to win 100 games on matchday five, when Juventus beat Valencia 1-0. With the Bianconeri losing 2-1 to Young Boys on Wednesday, Ronaldo has won 100 of his 158 UCL appearances.
However, his former teammate Iker Casillas has now equalled the 33-year-old's record after collecting his 100th win in the competition, as per Opta Sports.

The 37-year-old shot-stopper achieved this milestone on Tuesday night, when FC Porto beat Galatasaray 3-2 away from home. It was his 100th win in 173 appearances in the competition.
Former FC Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez completes the podium after winning 91 of the 151 Champions League games he played in.

Messi, meanwhile, is in sixth place among the players who have won the most UCL games, picking up 77 wins 129 appearances in Europe's biggest club tournament so far.
