Paris Saint-Germain have made a final decision on defender Sergio Ramos ahead of their UEFA Champions League tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
Ramos' time in the French capital has been disrupted by injuries, restricting him to just five appearances across all competitions so far this season.
The Spaniard's eyes must have lit up when he saw PSG draw his former side in the UCL's round of 16, but it has now been confirmed he will play no part in the first leg on Tuesday night.
"Sergio Ramos will continue to train on his own following his calf injury. A further update will be provided in a week's time," the club announced on their website.
Pochettino is confident the team will be able to hold a good account of themselves despite some less than convincing wins in recent weeks.
"We want to have things clear in our minds and be certain that we're doing the right thing. We can share things with the players so that we're in agreement, but the most important thing during these last three days of training is to be sure that we're going in the right direction," he said.
"That's key, as we've got the talent. I think that with our qualities, we can exploit Real Madrid's weaknesses and counteract their strong points."
