The Frenchman was given his marching orders with just minutes remaining in their Last 16 tie, after picking up a second yellow card for a late challenge on Dani Alves in United's loss to the French giants.
Speaking on the incident, which rules Pogba out of the return fixture in Paris, Solskjaer did not have any real complaints about the referee's decision.
"It is a blow," he said, according to Manchester Evening News.
"He is trying to get his body across and Alves is clever enough to put his foot in so it hits him
"I know Paul wants to shield the ball and it's unlucky and it hits him on the knee."

The reverse clash in France will take place on 6 March, where United will need to be at their absolute best if they are to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round of the competition.
