DRAMA: Barca Star Slams Teammate After Red Card

Barcelona midfielder Gundogan slammed Ronald Araujo after his red card in the Champions League against PSG.

A high-profile Barcelona star has caused a stir after criticising a teammate who was sent off in their UEFA Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The Catalan club crashed out of the competition following a 6-4 aggregate loss to the French giants, following their 4-1 loss in Spain this week.

Uruguay international Ronald Araujo was handed a straight red card in the 29th minute when match official Istvan Kovacs deemed him to have made a last-man foul on the edge of his own box.

With Barcelona 1-0 up at the time, PSG then equalised and turned the tie around in convincing fashion, scoring three more goals through Vitinha and a brace from France captain Kylian Mbappe.

Blaugrana midfielder Ilkay Gundogan spoke post-match to provide his thoughts on what was a night to forget for last season's Spanish champions, saying Araujo's poor decision ended up "killing" the team.

"It's hard to say (whether Araujo was the last man)… But in these crucial moments, you have to be sure if you go for the ball," he said, as per the Metro.

"I don't know if he touches the ball or not. I prefer to concede a goal or even allow a one on one.

"I don't know if he got to the ball or not, but give the goalkeeper the opportunity to stop it, or even give them the goal.

"Being one less so soon kills you in the game."
