Having signed for AS Roma at the beginning of the season, Paulo Dybala reportedly has a controversial "double release clause" in his current deal.
Arsenal Launch Kevin De Bruyne Investigation
Dybala has been an essential part of Jose Mourinho's side this season, having found the back of the net 11 times and provided seven assists in the 22 matches he has played in all competitions for the Giallorossi.
The club from the Italian capital is currently pushing for a UEFA Champions League position as they look to compete in Europe's premier club competition for the first time since the 2018/19 campaign.
However, if they do successfully qualify for next season's tournament, they may be without talisman Dybala after his double release clause was reportedly revealed.
According to transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, the Argentine playmaker has two relatively cheap buyout clauses that apply to teams in Italy as well as abroad.
For teams in Italy, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner will be available for just €20 million (R388 million), but only if the three-time Scudetto winners fail to increase the forward's salary from €3.8 million (R73.8 million) to €6 million (R116 million). As such, the club has the final say.
In the event the diminutive attacker makes a move to an Italian rival, Roma will also only receive 80% of the proceeds, with the player getting the remaining 20%.
For teams outside of Italy, the release fee is as low as €12 million (R233 million), but in this case, Dybala will have the final say on any potential move abroad.
Even if Roma wish to increase the player's wages, the former Juventus and Palermo star has the option to override that decision by accepting a transfer in another country instead.

The only pitfall for the Laguna Larga native if he does leave the Italian top flight is that he would be relinquishing the 20% of the transfer fee owed to him if he was to stay in the southern European nation.
