The Frenchman endured a difficult 2017/18 campaign under manager Mourinho in England, and is believed to be open to a move away from the Red Devils in this transfer window.
Pogba enjoyed a terrific 2018 FIFA World Cup with France in Russia, where he played with great maturity alongside N'Golo Kante in midfield.
Since his performances on the world's biggest stage, the 25-year-old has been linked with a return to Juventus, the club he played for between 2012 and 2016.
The Serie A champions have reportedly contacted his agent, Mino Raiola, ahead of the new campaign, and have informed the super-agent they are willing to go after the Frenchman again.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian giants are prepared to cash in on Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain, Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara in order to make funds available for their pursuit of Pogba.
