Italian giants Juventus have released a statement confirming significant news relating to Paul Pogba after rumours in Italy claimed he recently failed a drugs test.

On Monday, reports in Italy stated that the 30-year-old was facing a lengthy ban from football after he tested positive for testosterone following the Bianconeri's first league match of the campaign against Udinese.
The country's National Antidoping Court later issued a brief press release to confirm Pogba's provisional suspension in quotes carried by LiveSoccerTv.
"The National Antidoping Court has determined to provisionally suspend Paul Labile Pogba for violating articles 2.1 and 2.2; The decision has been made after the National Antidoping Court received a document on this matter from the National Antidoping Prosecutors," it read.
"The substance found are testosterone metabolites of non-endogenous origin following the test performed on August 20, 2023."
Pogba and his team will now have three days to request a secondary test to be revealed, with the Old Lady releasing a statement of their own to confirm the court's verdict.
"Juventus Football Club announces that today, September 11, 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023. The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps."
It is believed Pogba could be banned for up to four years if it is found that he used testosterone, a hormone which can help players with recovery, intentionally.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has endured a difficult time with injuries in Italy since returning to Turin, having made only 12 appearances across all competitions since August 2022.
