New Club 'Enters' Ramos Race Amid Zamalek Links

One of Europe's elite sides has reportedly entered the race for Sergio Ramos, with the Spaniard continuing to be linked with Zamalek.

Spain's record appearance-maker is still without a club, despite many of the league seasons around the world having already commenced.

The 38-year-old returned to Sevilla last season, but has since parted ways with the LALIGA outfit as he looks for a new adventure in what has been an extremely illustrious career.

In recent weeks, those closely affiliated with Egyptian giants Zamalek have stated that the north African giants have been in discussions with the player's camp in an effort to try to bring him to Cairo.

If the five-time CAF Champions League winners are to recruit the central defender, they will have to move fast because now a new club is believed to have entered the race for his services.

According to Fichajes, Juventus are now interested in signing Ramos in an effort to offset the loss of Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer.

The 27-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Bianconeri's 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week, and looks likely to miss the rest of the campaign as a result.

The record Serie A champions are now understood to be studying possible replacements for the five-cap Brazil international, and the Camas native is believed to be one of the names being studied.

Others are Joel Matip, Simon Kjaer, and Konstantinos Manolas, but it remains to be seen whether or not Juve ultimately decide to recruit right now or wait until the mid-season transfer window to open in order to find younger players for the position.
