Football Club Owner Promises Players 'Sex Workers' In Christmas Party Speech

Football Club Owner Promises Players 'Sex Workers' In Christmas Party Speech

Silvio Berlusconi

The owner of a football club in Italy has controversially stated that he will get his players "sex workers" if they pick up big victories in the second half of the 2022/23 season.

AC Monza chief Silvio Berlusconi, who once owned AC Milan, made the off-colour remarks at a recent Christmas party ahead of the new year.

The minnows are competing in Italy's Serie A for the first time in this campaign, after winning their play-off matches in the previous season to secure promotion.

Monza are currently just nine points clear of the relegation zone, leading to Berlusconi offering his players a reward if they are able to take three points off the country's traditional top sides in a speech at a Christmas party.

"I told the guys, now you will play Milan, Juventus," he said, according to The Guardian.

"If you win against one of these top teams, I'll bring a bus of w***** [sex workers] into the locker room."

Berlusconi, who was also Italy's prime minister twice before, has been criticised for his remarks by a fellow Italian politician, Daniel Sbrollini, who referred to his comments as the "usual misogynist language" from the football chief.

The 86-year-old served as Milan's president between 1986 and 2017, overseeing eight Serie A titles and five European Cups/UEFA Champions Leagues.
