The Italy international shot from 20 yards but completely wasted the chance, sending it far off target. Ten minutes into the second half Milan had a great opportunity. Calabria marauded down the right before curling a cross into the box. It took a few deflections and in the end Bacca couldn't quite reach it at the far post. At the other end of the pitch Paul Pogba made a nuisance of himself as he held off Calabria and Zapata in the box before poking a low shot on target. Donnarumma was on task and palmed it away. Both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances as the game drew to a close and the scoreline remained 0-0, forcing the clash into extra-time. In the 110th minute the breakthrough finally arrived as Morata hit the back of the net moments after coming off the bench. Cuadrado crossed from the right and the substitute swept home the finish for a 1-0 win.
