While it is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that a number of AC Milan stars are furious following the news that club legend Paolo Maldini has been sacked from his role.

On Monday, it was claimed that Milan owner Gerry Cardinale made the call to continue without technical director Maldini and sporting director Federico Massara during a tense meeting.
The two men reportedly met with Cardinale to lay out their plans ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, but the gathering ended with the owner telling them their services were no longer required instead, according to Football Italia.
Maldini, in particular, has been a popular figure in the dressing room given his status as a club legend and as one of the greatest defenders of all time.
Republicca claims French internationals Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan have not responded well to the news, while Portugal star Rafael Leao has also reacted furiously to the decision.
The winger, whose contract extension was announced by the club just last week, reportedly feels he would have not penned a new deal had he known Maldini was set to leave.
