Zinnbauer 'Close' To Sack, 3 Replacements Identified

Zinnbauer 'Close' To Sack, 3 Replacements Identified

Al Wehda reportedly have three possible replacements lined up for Josef Zinnbauer.

Josef Zinnbauer is reportedly close to being sacked by a Saudi Pro League side, with the club already eyeing three possible replacements for the former Orlando Pirates boss.

It looks as though the German tactician's time in the oil-rich kingdom is coming to an end in the near future.

The 54-year-old has not had the best of times since joining Al-Wehda at the start of the campaign, only winning one league match since taking charge. Those struggles on the pitch have seemingly been further compounded by issues off it as well.

It is alleged that the Schwandorf native has not received all his dues from the Knights of Mecca and plans on taking the Saudi outfit to FIFA as a consequence. All these factors have seemingly culminated in both parties wanting to part ways.

The former Buccaneers and Raja Club Athletic manager is expected to be fired soon, but according to Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Wehda are being proactive in finding a replacement for Zinnbauer and are evaluating three names who could possibly succeed him.

It seems that they are eager to recruit a head coach who has already spent some time in the Saudi top flight, and for that reason, they have identified Kresimir Rezic, Daniel Carreno, and Pablo Machin as likely successors to the German.

The 17th-placed side are set to take on Al-Taawoun in their next league encounter, but the same report claims that Zinnbauer will not be on the bench for that match, as members of his assistant staff will lead the team out while the club finalises a permanent replacement.
