The Best No. 7s In Real Madrid's History

Cristiano Ronaldo (2010-2018)

With this week marking the anniversary of Cristiano Ronaldo's final game for Real Madrid, we had a look at the best No. 7s in the club's history.

Eden Hazard currently wears the iconic shirt at the Santiago Bernabeu after receiving the number from Mariano Diaz.

However, similar to Diaz, who succeeded Ronaldo as the club's No. 7, Hazard is yet to live up to expectations at Real.

The Portugal superstar clearly left his mark at Los Blancos, becoming the club's all-time record goalscorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances. He also lifted 16 trophies with Real, including four UEFA Champions League titles.

On 26 May 2018, Ronaldo wore his famous shirt for the last time. Uncharacteristically, though, he was not the star of the match that night, with Gareth Bale stealing the headlines following a brace, including a superb bicycle kick, in a 3-1 win over Liverpool in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League final.

Ronaldo's impact with the Spanish giants, though, is unquestioned, with many considering him the greatest player to have ever worn the iconic white shirt.

Before Ronaldo, Raul Gonzalez was the club's record goalscorer and he, too, wore the No. 7 at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spaniard scored 324 goals in 741 appearances for the club, helping them claim 16 trophies too.

There were several other great players who have worn the No. 7 shirt over the years, with the first real superstar in the number being Raymond Kopa.

He wore it in the late 1950s, and, despite spending just three years at the club, lifted two LaLiga titles and three European Champions Cups.

You can see some more famous Los Blancos players who've worn the club's No. 7 shirt in the gallery above! Let us know, in the comments section below, if you believe Hazard can still live up to the expectations of the iconic shirt!
