Rodriguez has featured in only seven LaLiga games so far this season, but has not played since October, when he injured his knee while on international duty.
The Colombian has been linked with an exit ever since his return to the Santiago Bernabeu from a two-year loan spell with Bayern Munich, but a move to Serie A giants Napoli fell through in the previous transfer window.
Now, according to Don Balon, the midfielder has been given four games in the new year to prove his worth and convince the board not to sell him.

It remains to be seen how Rodriguez will fit into the side following the emergence of Isco once again, while Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior have certainly put their hands up to be regular starters.
Rodriguez returned to full training before the Spanish top flight's winter break but was not used in the final game of the year against Athletic Bilbao, although Zidane's latest quotes on the player have quietened doubts about a departure.
"He's in a process of recovery," the French tactician said, as per Marca.
"He's had a bad injury, but he's working a lot and we want to get him back fit, this is clear."
