Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a staggering new €1.6 billion (R26 billion) kit sponsorship deal with adidas, one that will see them overtake arch-rivals FC Barcelona's record deal with Nike.

According to Marca, Zinedine Zidane's club is set to extend its relationship with adidas by signing a new 12-year-deal worth as much as €120 million (R1.9 billion) a season.
Real's current contract with the German sportswear manufacturer was set to expire next year, but with the new deal, they are set to become the club with the biggest kit deal in the history of the game.
According to the proposed agreement, Los Blancos will benefit from 20% of the sales related to their merchandise, in addition to €9 million in material for all of the club's teams.
In addition to extending their relationship with Los Blancos, which initially began in 1981, adidas will have their own store at the club's iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, and it is expected to be the brand's largest in the world.
