Los Blancos seem eager to complete their transfer business early in the off-season as they prepare to buy Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
However, the Spanish champions seem to always have an eye on the future, and that future may well include Mbappe.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Mbappe would not be exercising the option of an additional year in his contract, which would mean that the 24-year-old is approaching the final 12 months of his current deal at the Parc des Princes.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner may be a target for the record UEFA Champions League winners, but rumours have suggested that Real will only be willing to sign the France captain should he become a free agent.
The PSG hierarchy may not be the only deterrent to signing the pacey forward, however. According to Defensa Central, Benzema no longer wishes to play alongside his French compatriot.
Mbappe was hotly tipped to make his way to the Santiago Bernabeu last year, but ultimately opted to re-sign with Les Parisiens, and it is believed that the reigning Ballon d'Or winner is still hurt by that decision.

It seems unlikely that the Bondy native will leave his native country during the upcoming transfer window, but Real will reportedly be hoping they can pounce on the ex-AS Monaco man in a free deal come July 2024.
